Brutally honest book reviews

Blogathon Kick-Off Post

Blogathon Bash

This weekend I’m participating in a Blogathon. This is an opportunity for me to cross some items off my blogger to-do list.

Here’s the list of tasks I will be working on during the Blogathon, in order of priority:

  • Finish developing my WordPress Book Review plugin.
    • Build the UI based on the plugin settings on the Edit Post page.
    • Build a settings page.
    • Build an index to search for book reviews by title.
    • Once the plugin is built, start using it on Book Wookie.
  • Fix Cancel button on nested comments.
  • Write The Light Between Oceans review post.
  • Comment on other book blogs.
  • Write Waiting on Wednesday posts for the next four weeks.
  • Clean up MailChimp newsletter.
  • Investigate if it’s worthwhile to create a template for book review posts.

Happily, I don’t work today so hopefully I’ll be able to make a dent in this list, or at least in the first item, which is a pretty big task in itself. I did promise my husband I would go and see World War Z, but with any luck by the end of the weekend I’ll have a much shorter to-do list.

Are you participating in the Blogathon? What does your to-do list look like? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you Elizabeth! I started with a WordPress theme that somebody else had built and then just customized it to my liking.
    Enjoy the Blogathon!

OK, you are light years ahead of me Donna, I’m still trying to figure out how to use a WP Plugin and you are developing them…that is awesome! My list is ambitious for me but I will be happy just to complete a chunk of it. Hope you have fun and cross lots of items off your list!

Thanks Monica. My day job is a Programmer, so programming for WordPress wasn’t too difficult to pick up.

Best of luck in the Blogathon!

12 books? Well, you’re a busy little bee, aren’t you? :P When the plugin is ready, I’d love for you to beta test it to iron out any kinks before I release it to the public. Will be in touch!

Good chatting with you at the Twitter party! You can beta test the plugin if you like when it’s ready. I’ll probably put up a post on the Google+ group at that time.

Enjoy the rest of your Blogathon!

Hi Donna. My todo list looks long and keeps getting longer. For every task I complete I seem to find another one that needs doing! i’m having fun though and that’s the most important bit for me. I went to my first Twitter party last night which was a bit of an experience. Very chaotic but others seemed to know how to follow along. I got totally lost. Probably takes a bit of practice like most things! Hope you get your plug in done!

Thanks! Not sure I’ve seen you yet at the parties I’ve been to.

I think the to-do list is supposed to be endless! The important thing is that you continue to enjoy yourself. When it feels like work, it stops being fun.

    Cheers!
